While being preserved in the cold rooms the fruit and vegetables breathe, during the breathing action they turn the oxygen into carbon dioxide. Storing fruit & vegetables with atmosphere gases at levels that we want means that even months after the harvesting, the fruit and vegetables maintain its quality.
The atmosphere gases in the rooms can escape via the cold storage doors. To prevent such a gas leak additional techniques are applied to the doors and that makes these rooms Controlled Atmosphere Room Doors.
The doors (which are used at the Controlled Atmosphere Rooms wherein gas-tightness is very crucial) are supported by using special doors seals, extra locks and if wanted a surveillance/observation window on the door leaf. Also, if required a threshold profile can be added to prevent any leaks between the door leaf and the concrete ground.
